This couple were my great great grandparents who lived and possible built their home in Carrowduff where one son Richard and wife Bridget Neylon also from local area, with his two younger sisters Mary and Bridget (dairy maids ) on their small farm , immigrated from Liverpool on ship Monsoon arriving in August 1854 in Moreton Bay Colony, New South Wales (now Queensland), Australia, moving west to Ipswich area and establishing 200 acre farm at Woogooroo growing cotton and raising cattle.
Believe existing family members with a continuing association with Carrowduff LaHinch may include Denis, Josie, Richard or James or Patrick McMahon.
Understand from Michael Normile (who was married to Bridget's sister), the chapter Normile Circle in book "Oceans of Consolation", that land in Carrowduff and his land in nearby Caheraderry was purchased, so Denis's family originally came from another part of Clare and he possible moved to Carrowduff to take up farming.
Any clues as I would love to meet up with others following patrilinear McMahon line from this part of West Clare
Good Luck with your own research- happy to share other info
