I am looking for any information relating to the Frazer family from townland of Annahagh. Maria Frazer married Robert Wilson from Lisnanore in 1885. I would like to find out more about the Frazers and the  Farley family. A Robert Farley was a cousin of Maria Wilson (nee Frazer).

  • Griffiths Valuation for 1855 lists a Robert Wilson in Lisnanore on plot 6 which was a house, outbuildings, a forge and 3.5 rood of land (just under an acre). The modern N12 runs through the middle of that plot now.

Here?s the family in the 1901 census. I would suspect that Robert born c 1836 will be the father of the Robert who married Maria Frazer.

Same household in 1911. Note 6 children born to the parents, of which 4 were still alive in 1911:

There are several townlands called Annahagh in Monaghan but I suspect the one Maria came from was in the parish of Monaghan, and just on the outskirts of Monaghan town. Griffiths for 1860 shows a William Frazer with a small house there on plot 5b(b). Today that?s on the Old Armagh Rd but it looks to have been built on with the expansion of the town.
