I'm seeking information regards the Castlemaine residence in Moydrum, Westmeath. My Grandmother was a kitchenmaid for this household in 1911, her name was Georgina Coyne. Would anyone know anything about how to find records of how long she may have been in service there?

Thank you for your message. I hope that someone is able to give you some information on Georgina and her time at Moydrum. In the meantime have you tried contacting the Meath/Westmeath Archaeological and Historical Society to see if they can advise you as to what records may be held locally from the house? Local Libraries can also be a good source of information, especially on the local ?Big House?.

I did a quick search for Moydrum and came across an article that mentioned that the house was burned by the IRA in 1921.. I wonder if Georgina was still in residence at the time..
