I am looking to get more information on the Cushinan Family from Annaghmore, Duneane, Co Antrim.

George Cushinan (Cushnahan, Cushnan,etc) B @ 1840 & Catherine McCormick B @ 1840 were married  19 Jan 1857 in RC  church.  Children

George B Sep 1858 - emigrated to Scotland

Patrick B @ 1861 - emigrated to Scotland

Un-named female child born 13 May 1864 and died at birth.

George Cushnahan is listed in Annaghmore on the Griffith's valuation of 1862 along with a John Cushnahan so he could be a brother.

I am looking to find the death or any other records for George & Catherine.

Thank you

Lorna Duddy

  • The revaluation records show John leaving his house in 1868; George is shown as having gone by 1870 and his house was ?in ruins? by 1880. Possible death for George registered in Antrim town 1868 Volume 11, page 3. Est year of birth 1797.

You can order a photocopy from GRO Roscommon for ?4 per certificate. Put the place, year, quarter (where there is one), volume & page number on the application form (anywhere). Don?t worry about leaving some boxes blank. You don?t need to fill them all in if you have the reference details. http://www.groireland.ie/ You have to post or fax the form to them but they will e-mail the copy certificate to you if you wish. Tick the relevant box on the form.

Can?t see a death for Catherine. Possibly she died before 1864.
