Looking for any information on my great-great-grandfather, John Murphy, born Millstreet Parish around 1830. Probably died sometime before 1882. Believe his widow Ellen Murphy (nee Curtin) and two daughters, Mary and Margaret (Maggie), went to the US. Margaret returned and ran a guest house at Kings Terrace in Cork city with sister Nellie. Son Denis emigrated to New Zealand. Do not have death information on John and Ellen Murphy and wonder if they are buried in the RC cemetery in Millstreet. Other place names associated with the family are Knocknageeha, Knockanranny.

Have you tried looking at church records for more info? Most Catholic records are held locally so you may need to write to the local parish priest for possible assistance. One website that you may find useful is the Irish Times where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. It also shows you where copies of the records are available.
