What I am trying to find out is when they actually came over in 1847 & what ship brought them here & anything from before that time. I have alot of data collected coming this way. Just nothing before they entered the Port in PA in 1847 other than the following:

(7) (my 3rd great grandfather) Edward Joseph Connolly b. 1 JUN 1835 Carrickmacross, County Monaghan,Ire. d. 10 MAR 1919 El Paso, El Paso,TX, USA m. Margaret Lyons b. 4 JULY 1841 Skribbereen Run, County Cork, Ire. d. 24 SEPT 1914 Alhambra,CA. They had 11 kids.
Any info you can provide me with would be most appreciated. This is all I have regarding Ireland!

I found a record of a Thomas Connolly in the Tithe Applotment Books. This is a land record in Ireland dating 1823-38. The Thomas that could possibly be who you are looking for was recorded in Magheross parish. This is the parish that Carrickmacross belongs to :

Unfortunately, church records for Magheross parish have a late start date so there will be no records of the Connolly?s there:
With regards to passenger lists, in most cases prior to 1890, you are more likely to find passenger lists at the port of arrival rather than that of departure so it may be an idea to do some research at the US National Archives website. Here is the link:
