I am searching for the homeplace of Austin O'Connor, b abt 1832 and his father in law, Austin O'Connell.
Austin O'Connor married Susan O'Connell in Abington, Massachusetts, USA. Both were from County Clare.
I understand St. Austin was only found in a few places in Ireland and Killeany was one of them.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Beth:
I checked the 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Co. Clare and only found one Austin O'Connell. He was living in Moymore North townland in Killaspuglonane civil parish. This parish is two parishes to the west of Kilfenora parish. Not sure if this is the Austin O'Connell that you are looking for. Do you have a n ame for the father of Austin O'Connor?

Thanks Roger, I don't have anymore info on Austin O'Connell. He was probably born about 1800-1810.His daughter Susan married Austin O'Connor in Massachusetts, USA. They all came from County Clare. Did you happen to find a Michael Connor or O'Connor there?
I appreciate you looking for me. Beth

I was asking for the name of the father of Austin O'Connor. Are you indicating it was Michael? There were about 15 Michael O'Connors in the Griffiths, however, none in Killaspuglonane or Kilfenora. However, it is possible that Austin and Susan met in Massachusetts and she came from another part of Co. Clare.

You could be right. Thanks for answering. Yes, his father was Michael. Could have been listed as Connor/Connors too.

I checked Griffiths and there were around 15 Michael Connor records in Co. Clare and 15-20 Michael Connors. I use www.askaboutireland.ie to search Griffiths. Also, in case you have not searched the Co. Clare library site here is the URLhttp://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/genealogy/genealog.htm
