I am trying to find out more about the family of Robert Dodd and Ann Curran. They were married 16 October 1817 in Killorglin, and have children: Robert, Sarah (married Daniel Moriarty), Ellen (married Jeremiah Lynch), Julia, Ann (married Thomas Daly), Ellen, William (married Maria Healey), Margaret and Mary. There are likely other children and spouses I am not aware of. Some of the Dodd family members moved to Massachusetts, and I descend from these Dodds. It appears as if the eldest son, Robert, left the family shop to his younger brother, William. William moved to the United States along with his sisters Sarah and Ann and their spouses. My part of the family has very little information about those who remained in Ireland. We would love to find Robert and Ann's parents as well as other descendants. Is anyone familiar with this Dodd family?

You may want to look at www.irishgenealogy.ie which is an Irish goverment site that has some Co. Kerry baptismal and marriage records. I searched for all Robert Dodd records and found the 1817 marriage record to Ann Curran. Also found an 1829 baptismal record for Ellen Dodd and an 1835 baptismal record for Margaret Dodd.and an 1838 baptismal record for Mary Dodd. You may find other records. I would then search the three girls to see if you can locate a marriage record.
Looks like Robert had a brother named Gerald. There were also other Dodds in the Killorglin area which may or not be related. I also looked at the 1852 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Killorglin. There are 3 Robert Dodds listed.

My Bartholomew Curran was born about 1843! Not possible to have been a sponsor for a birth in 1820 or so! His father was Daniel, so I tried to go back another generation and didn't find anything. However, I still think there are connections? I will keep looking.
