My Great Grand mothers Mother and Father are, Honoria Hassett and Michael Sexton who immigrated to Australia in 1852. On the ships passenger record is states that they come from Clondegad, Clare, Ireland. Have not been able to get anymore information beyond the passenger list.

Ron:
The 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Clondagad parish has a number of Sexton entries. Also, the 1826 Tithe Applotment listings also have 21 Sextons in Clondagad although there may be some duplicates. www.titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie You may also want to check the Clare library site http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/genealogy/genealog.htm

My family from Clondegad are Patrick Sexton & Catherine Ronan, . They arrived in NSW in 1854 on the "Blenheim", then travelled on to South Australia, where they settled in Kapunda. 3 of Catherine Ronan's brothers also setlled in the same area. Have just found their children baptised in the Clondegad parish registers, and the family lived at "Decamade".

Hi,
My 2nd Great Grandparents were Michael Hassett and Mary Sexton. When they emmigrated to Australia with two children (Hanorah and Bridget) in 1852 they eventually settled in Victoria.
They too came from County Clare but I have not been able to tie down which parish they had previously lived in. It's a little uncanny seing the how close my family are to Michael Sexton and Hanoria Hassetts (ronwwh), it makes me think that there is a link there somewhere.
Michael was born in about 1818 and Mary in about 1821 both in County Clare. The Ship they left in on 18th March 1854, the Conway, departed from Greenock, Scotland arriving in Geelong,Victoria on June,17th 1854.
Would appreciate any tips from anyone who may be related or who has some search clues.
Thanks,
Tom
