Looking for imformation on the family of my Great Grandmother Rose Anne Cain or Kane. She was the daughter of Daniel & Susanne (nee McAnally) Kane / Cain and was born in Portadown Armagh about 1863. She emigrated to Queensland Australia possibly early 1880s or late 1870s; where she married my Great Grandfather Michael Stapleton in 1883 at Townsville, Queensland.
Rose Ann was buried in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Mullumbimby New South Wales in 1947, so I would assume she was born Roman Catholic also.
If anyone on this message board has any connection I would be greatful to hear fro you.

Dear drslcs
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
As you can see from the link below, Drumcree is a Civil Parish in Co. Armagh:
Records for the corresponding Roman Catholic Parish of Drumcree (Portadown) begin in 1844. There are some missing dates, notably between 1863 and 1864 for marriages and deaths. There are some places where you can search online, however these websites do not have complete collections and many do not cover the period after 1900:
www.familysearch.org has a huge database of genealogical records including some church records for Ireland.
www.rootsireland.ie have a large collection of Irish Church records, however you have to pay to use this site.
The above sites can also be used to check civil registration which began in 1864 (generally speaking). As many people did not know their correct date of birth, Rose Anne may be included in those records. This will give you further information about her parents and townland of residence.
The Ulster Historical Foundation: http://www.ancestryireland.com/ would also be a useful port of call for you.
Other important sources include the Tithe Applotment Books and Griffith?s Valuation. Even though these sources only record the head of the household, the information is very important and can be valuable:
Tithe Applotment Books (1823-1837): http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/index.jsp
Griffith?s Valuation (1847-1864): http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/
The National Archives of Ireland: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/ you can search the 1901/1911 Census on the National Archives page too, for instances of the family name at that time
Remember to post any new information that you find here. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.
Best of luck with your search

Was able to find my Roseanne Kane being Baptised on the 18th of August 1864 at Loughgall Roman Catholic, Armagh, Ireland on the National Library of Ireland: Roman Catholic Parish Registers at: http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000632608#page/17/mode/1up
Thanks to a cousin here in Australia I have tracked down 5 siblings Baptised or born between 1861 and 1875 to Daniel Kane and Susan McAnally. Would love information on the others if any one has come across them:
Mary Cain Baptised 15th of February 1864 at Kilmore (Richhill).
Helena Kane Baptised 21st of December 1867 at Drumcree
James Patrick Kane baptised 10th of February 1875 also at Drumcree
Daniel Kane Civil Birth Record of 9th of October 1865 on the Richhill records. At Anahue (presumably Annahugh, Kilmore (Rich Hill).
A second Mary Kane 1st of November 1870 Civil Birth Record for Lurgan, her parents living at Derrytrasna.
Any further information greatly appreciated.
