re MCMAHON OF CARRIGAHOLT

I searched the 1827 Tithe Applotment listings for Moyarta civil parish. There were 39 McMahons listed including two Dennis McMahons. See below. There were also four Cahills in the parish.

Dear Roger, 

Further to the record in the Tithe Applotment book re Denis McMahon, there is a post script that appears to read Limerick( abbreviated) do you think this is correct or can you offer another interpreatation for this extra wording?

As well my denis jnr ' father was Dennis brother Andrew and Granfather Michael.

I wil also look further at the records

I agree that the annotation does look like Limerick. Some of the other entries have a word which in some cases is a name probably the first names of the father two people with the same name. e.g look at Michael Blake.

Moyarta parish does not border Limerick directly.

I also treid to resend the link for the other Denis McMahon record becuase the first time did not work. Hopefully, it works this time.
