I am looking for information regarding John Garvey and his wife Mary Margaret Dorgan who were married November 26, 1843 in Lisdorgan, County Kerry, Ireland. I am unable to determine when they moved to the United States. Also unable to determine if my great grandfather Patrick James Garvey was born in Ireland. Bible records show Patrick was baptised on May 11, 1859.
Patrick married Margaret Elizabeth (Kennedy) O'Rourke. Not sure if she was born in Ireland or the United States. Her parents were Michael Kennedy and Johana Walch (or Dower). Johana then married John O'Rourke.
I am unable to find any records on ancestry.com to trace these relatives prior to their move to the United States.

Hi Linda,
Patrick James was born in MA about 1859, his wife Margaret was born in Ohio 1865.
They are buried together in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, according to census returns, both of their parents were born in Ireland.

I've been able to go back as far as John Garvey and Mary Margaret Dorgan. The death certificate for their daughter (my great grandmother) Margaret Garvey indicates that her parents were from Nidot, Ireland, but there is no such place.
