Hi All!
I know my ancestors are from Co. Clare, but have no idea of Townland. I'd love to know so I could vivsit.
My 3rd g grandfather was Thoms McMahon b. 1775 married Hanna/Anna Sheehan b. 1786
Their son was Martin McMahon b. 1836.
The all emigrated to Canada around 1848.
I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks

Hi:
Many thanks for your query to Ireland Reaching Out. I will take a look at our local registers here in Tulla for you and let you know what I might find. In addition, you might want to check out the Clare Library website at: http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/genealogy/genealog.htm. They have a lot of online resources that may be of interest to you. In particular, you should check out the Passenger Ship Lists in the Donated Materials for your ancestor's names on ships to Canada. As well as that, you might find that there are several parishes where both surnames (McMahons and Sheehans) co-exist and even certain townlands. This may help to narrow down your search for a particular area.
If you have any further information, please email me at: tulla@irelandxo.com.
Kind regards,
Jane.

Bob, I have a Sheehan connected to my Kenny family from Sixmilebridge. There is a Kenny/Sheehan grave in the Ballysheen Cemetery, Kilfinaghta Parish.
