James:
The Killasser RC records start in 1848 but I was unable to locate a Catherine Brennan baptismal record in Kilasser RC church around 1852 when I searched the Roots Ireland indexes. Roots had an 1849 and an 1854 record for a Catherine with father Thomas but not in Killasser. Also, the mother's name was not Bridget for either record.
Sometime in the summer of 2015, the National Library will have the RC parishe records online for free searching. Maybe you can go thru the Killasser records looking for family.
I also looked at the 1856 griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Killasser. There were two Thomas Brennans listed. The one in Dromada (Duke) townland was still alive in 1901 but his wife was Honor. I'm wondering if the Prebaun Thomas Brennan is your ancestor.

It's all very confusing in the 1901 census Catherine is married to Michael reidy 50 years old she is 48 they are living in castle Eden colliery County Durham , it states she has a brother Anthony Brennan living with them, he is 41 years old at this point. This is definitely Catherine my great grandmother as my grandad is listed on this Michael reidy who is 17 years old at this point
Kind regards

OK. I went back to the Roots indexes and found Catherine in 1857 in Killasser with parents Thomas and Bridget Snee. Also found the records for James, Bridget and Eliza in the years you indicated. Did not find Anthony and searched from 1847-1867.
I'm intrigued that the family was in Dromada (Duke) in 1857. Is it possible that the Thomas Brennan in Dromada (Duke) in 1901 is the same person. Did Bridget die young and he remarried?

That is a possibility as I noticed something along the same lines, could thomas have had more children after bridget died.
The 1901 census where I found Catherine in the noth East of England married to Michael reidy, they where married in leeds in 1875? I think. Catherine died in Middlesbrough in 1936
On this census it states an Anthony Brennan aged 41 years as her brother all the other people named are her husband and children
