Earliest Fitzgibbons known is John or James Fitzgibbons (b. abt 1780), married Hanora Barry 1824 (2nd marriage) Hanora or Mary Hanly or Hanlon (abt 1810, 1st marriage), mother Hanora, sister "Nell" (Ellen?) brothers/uncles John, James, Gerald, Gibbons; listed with other common names and children in the family bible of emmigrants (1847-1850 USA) 19th century owner of bible says "moved to Ballhahil (Cloncagh parish) in 1818" More names and dates if this sounds at all familiar to anyone.

im not sure who started looking for fitzgibbons, but i have found a garrett fitzgibbons 1815, that married johanna carmody. i get conflicting information about the wife, or maybe he was married twice, but i dont swear to that fact. they had a child born in ireland, then went to u.s. and settled in maine, broome, ny. dont know if that helps at all. anything you can verify for me would be cool. cant get past garrett to his parents, or past carmody t hers. good luck. peggy
