I have located a copy of a birth/baptismal certificate. How can I use this information to forward my reasearch into my grandmother? She left Kilbehnney through Mitchelstown and probably sailed from the Port of Cork around 1890.

Dave:
I assume the birth/baptismal record is for your grandmother. So you have her parents names and where they lived.
The next step would be to look for their marriage record and if they married 1864 or later the record would show the names of the fathers of the bride and groom and where the bride and groom were living when they married.
If you let us know their names, we can look for the marriage index record which would allow you to write to the General Register Office for a copy of the record.

Sorry it takes me so long to get with these things. I'm studying Irish music and learning the mandolin, tenor banjo and Bodrahn drum so I get a little distracted. Love the Irish sessions in my area.
