  • You can follow each of those properties forward, using the revaluation records (which are on-line for the 6 counties of Northern Ireland). Search under the townland name and parish.

    The Griffiths clerks revisited each property about every 2 years and recorded changes to tenants, landlords and other relevant information eg if a property had been knocked down or extended. They recorded changes in books which last about 10 years each. The changes were in different coloured ink for different years. The year is normally inserted in the comments column eg ?79? for 1879. If you see ?reps of? as the tenant, then you know the tenant had not long died. If a woman appears listed, she?s often a widow. The series of records runs up to 1929.

    Obviously you can cross reference to the 1901 & 1911 censuses to get a snapshot of the full family at that time.

    So that should enable you to find out how long each of the people you listed remained at that address.

    Check the PRONI site for wills for them too. (Often wills will mention ?my son John now in America? or similar.).
