Patrick Grady was born about 1820 in County Clare. He was married twice according to the 1865 New York State census. His second wife was Mary Doherty/Dorrity (c1820-?). They both died sometime between the 1880 U.S. census and the 1892 New York census.
There was a Patrick Grady Jr./2nd (1838-1893) who married a Bridget Hehir (1839-1893) in Chemung or Schuyler counties, New York. To my knowledge they didn't have any children. This Patrick was born in Ireland.
Patrick (c1820) and Mary did have a daughter,Jane A. Grady (1859-1926), my great-grandmother. Jane was born 27 Dec 1859 in the Town of Veteran, Chemung County, New York.
I do not know when they emigrated and have not found them on a passenger list. Does anyone recordnize these people?
Thanks

Hi:
Have you checked the online resources through the Clare County Library? Do you think that the Patrick Grady Jr. that you refer to is a son of the first Patrick Grady?
I can take a look through some of the registers if you think that it may be of help. Let me know.
Kind regards,
Jane.

The 1865 NY census places Patrick Jr in Patrick Sr's house as "child" (they didn't say "son" or "daughter") even though he (P2) was in his 20s. I'll look at what the Clare County Library has online. Thanks
