Hi
I am searching for any infornation available on Patrick McGrath born abt 1803 Ireland who married Mary Freeze born abt 1803 Co Clare. I am unsure when or where they married exactly but I found the baptisms of 4 of their 5 children
Matthew 1832
Margaret 1838
Denis 1841
and Patrick 1843 - all in Youghalarra Parish with Burgess as address. They also had daughter Catherine born abt 1834 in Tipperary
Catherine is my 2 gg mother and married John Michel born Channel Islands in 1855 in Blackwood, Victoria, Australia
Thank you

Kerryn:
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
You posted in the parish of Manister in Co. Limerick but it appears your family was in North Tipperary.I can't tell if you searched the National Library of Ireland RC parish registers or obtained your info on the children from another source. Just in case, here is the link to the Youghalarra records http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0759 Since you believe Mary Freeze was from Co. Clare possibly the marriage was held in Co. Clare. I would check the registers for the Clare parishes that are close to Youghalarra such as Killaloe, Ogonneloe and Clonrush in that order.
Let me know if you have questions.

Thanks for that information. Yes I have been slowly working my way through all the new online records. I have just found a tree on ancestry that has her born 1811 in Limerick so will start searching that now
Thanks Kerryn

New information has come to hand and I now don't know where Mary Freeze / Frieze or Patrick McGrath were born. The Limerick and Co Clare were just guesses from other family trees.
All I really know is Mary married Patrick McGrath prior to 1832 (child born 1832) Had 6 children that I know of. I found 5 baptisms in the parish registers at the NLI site ranging fron 1832 - 1843, but still haven't found Catherines in 1834. I have been searching for Mary and Patricks marriage and havn't been able to locate that either
I have found the baptisms of 5 of their children and am wondering if or how I could also find out who the sponsors are? For example
Matthew McGrath
DOB 23/12/1832 Baptised 24/12/1832
sponsors Patrick McGrath and Judith Quigley Would this be Patricks father as he wouldn't have a brother with the same name?John McGrath
DOB 24/9/1836 Baptised 25/9/1836
Sponsors Matthew McGrath and Margaret QuigleyMargaret McGrath
DOB 18/10/1838 Baptised 21/10/1838
Sponsors Tim Quinoa and Judith Comms?? not sure of surname as hard to readDenis McGrath
DOB 26/4/1841 Baptised 28/4/1841
Sponsors James Quigley and Catherine Freeze (I would think this is Marys mother or sister)Patrick McGrath
DOB 9/9/1843 Baptised 12/9/1843
Sponsor Malachy Quigley and Anne divyor?? not sure of last nameThanks again Kerryn - Queensland Australia

Kerryn:
You can speculate but it would be difficult to confirm since you likely need records back to 1800 or earlier and they don't appear to be available.
