I found an obit formy gr-gr-grandfather, William Henry NEALON who died 14 Jun 1902, Winona, Minnesota. His obit states he was "The Oldest Centenarian born in THIS Section Passed Away" ,at the age of 100 years an 14 days. He was born in (Maura, County Clare, Ireland, 25 May 1802. While yet a young man he was united in marriage to Mary Lynch, of Kilrush, County Lierick, Ireland and in 1846, with his wife and two children (daughters Bridget & Susan) came to America, living in Boston for two years. In 1848 he removed to Elmira, NY and in 1866 came to Winona withis family. (it goes on to list his 9 children-whom I have found extensive documents on).
I also found the RC Record of the marriage of William NEALON & Mary LYNCH-14 Feb 1844 "William of Kilmurry to Mary Lynch (Michael) of Cathufree married at her father's house in presence of her father John Neilan & Matilda Purtill" (this is a little confusing to me) Does this mean that "Michael" is mary's father? Is "John Neilan" William's father/brother? I have found records that Matilda "Maggie" Purtill was possibly Mary's mother?!?! I do not find any other documents that give me answers to the relationships/parentage of William & Mary's family in Co Clare Records.
I can not find a "ship's passage" of their voyage to the US. I have found a "cousin" whose g-g-grandmother was Mary's sister, Anna Lynch(BURNS), and other sister married McGuane. Wm's sister (?) NEALON married a CUNNINGHAM, and lived in NY in 1902. NY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED on thier Irish family left behind !!
Thanks, Betty

Dear Betty
I don't see your connection to Moyarta parish. You might get a better response in Kilrush and Kilmurry parishes. Kilrush is of course in County Clare. It is not clear whether your ancestor was from Kilmurry Ibrickan or Kilmurry McMahon. I have drawn a blank in some sources that I have for Kilmurry Ibrickan and suspect that he was from Kilmurry McMahon. I recommend checking for the children's baptisms there between 1844 and 1846:
http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0794If you look at the other marriages on the same page as that of your ancestors at
http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000634784#page/56/mode/1up
you will see that the bride's father's name is frequently given in brackets after her own name.
It is impossible to tell exactly how the witness was related to the groom.Michael Lynch is still listed in Carrowfree in Griffith's Valuation (1855). Carrowfree is not mentioned in the Tithe Applotment Books, so you will have to investigate if it had a different name or was part of a larger townland.
Catherine daughter of Michl. Lynch and Maggy Purtill was baptised in Kilrush parish on 16 Apr 1831:

Hello,
Thanks so much for posting this link. Catherine Lynch was my gr-great-grandfather, Patrick Sheahan's, first wife. She had a daughter Mary born in 1848 who married my great-grandfather's older brother in Philadelphia. Then Patrick Sheahan married Anne O'Connor in 1855 in Kilchrist so Catherine died at some point before then.
