Hi,
My 3x great grandmother Kitty Cleary was a widow when she married my 3x great grandfather John McGee in 1871 in Pettigo (they lived in Glaskeeragh) and I recently found out that her first husband was called John Dillon and they had a son named William in 1865. Kitty was born in about 1845 so I assume she married in about 1863-1865. I was wondering if anyone knows of her first marriage? I can't find an exact date and I would also like to know when John Dillon died (obviously before 1871). I also completely lose all info on William after his birth in 1865. He may have died for I can't find him on the Census or any marriage records.
Thanks,
Katelyn

Dear Katelyn
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I checked rootsireland and as you say, William was born in 1865 (June). There doesn't seem to be a record of any siblings of William or of a marriage record for Catherine and John Dillon. I haven't been able to find any burial record either. (There doesn't seem to be any burial records for the Parish of Templecarn). I also checked Griffith's Valuation but there are no records of a John Dillon in that parish but there is one in Kilymard not far away:

Without furhter info on William it is difficult to know if any marriage record you find is correct. I was unlable to locate any.
Is there any indication that William emigrated?
Best wishes

Katelyn:
Assuming your ancestors were RC, did you check the Pettigo register which is now online for the marriage record?
