Hello.
Our family in the US are interested in finding out about our ancestors from Clare. We are related to Patrick Curry (Corry) and Mary Morgan.
Patrick Curry (Corry) was born about 1833 and left Clare in about 1852. His brother Michael Corry left in about 1862. Their parents were Michael Corry and Mary Crowe. Both brothers settled in Albany, NY.
Patrick Corry married Mary Morgan in Albany in 1861. Mary Morgan was born in Clare in the 1840s we think and came to the US (Albany) in 1860.
Michael Morgan - who I believe to be either the brother or cousin of Mary Morgan - left Clare before 1853 for Wales (Glamorgan). He married Mary Duggan in Wales. His first child (Ann) was born in Wales. His second child, William, was born back in Ireland in 1859 - in Rhynagonnaught. I am fairly sure that this is his baptism record: http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000634696#page/17/mode/1up His next two children were born back in Wales and then they all came to the US and settled in Coeymans near Albany. Michael was the sponsor for two of Mary Morgan Curry's children in the US -- and she and her oldest son John were the witnesses when his eldest daughter Ann was married in Albany. Michael's father's name was William Morgan.
I am trying to find out if Patrick and Michael Corry were from around Doonbeg as well. I'd also love any information on the birth of Mary Morgan or other Morgans. I did see records of two Morgan families whose houses were thrown down in 1849 - but I don't know anything more.
I understand that parish records do exist for the 1830s-1850s but that they are in Kilkee. Where exactly would they be?
Thanks for any help that you can give me.
Best regards,
Laura Roselle

Laura,
The National Library hold copies of baptism records from Clare for the years 1869 to 1880. According to this site, there are earlier records (starting in 1836). Clare Heritage centre has a copy of those (contact details on the site), and the originals should be held by the parish priest.
