Seraching for Byrne family members

Roots Ireland only has a few of the RC parishes for Co. Wexford in their data base but they do have Bunclody which is the RC parish for Newtown Barry. However, I could not locate a record for Annie Byrne around 1857. RC parish registers were recently place online by the National Library of Ireland. Here is the link to the Bunclody/Newtownbarry register. You should review the register around 1857 to see if you can locate a record for Annie.

Thank you for your response. I visited Bunclody this year and went to the Catholic church there where they kindly allowed me to view the registers, however there is a gap between 1851 and 1857 which I think could be the crucial years. I have also been unable to trace a death record for Edmund Byrne. I have Annie's marriage certificate from 1885 where it lists her father as Edmund Byrne deceased so that is all the information I have about him. Interestingly Annie completed the 1911 English census form and listed her birth place as N Town Barry Co. Carlow - I later discovered that part of the town is in Carlow and part in Wexford.

Annie, a great many Byrne's lived in Bunclody (Newtownbarry).

My grandmother was Jane Byrne who married James Foley.  I think her parents were Ann and Martin Byrne (but have not been able to find out how many other children they had) aqnd have come to a full stop with regard to the Byrne family.

My Aunt Margaret Byrne had a son out of wedlock who was adopted by her sister (my grandmother)  Michael Byrne emigrated to the USA aged 18 and became head cook on the USS Princeton which was bombed by the Japanese in the Pacific - he drowned and was aged 24.

My great great great grandmother was Rosannah (nee Byrne) Freney/Franey from Newtownbarry.  All I know about her is that her husband was Thomas, also from Newtownbarry, and that some of her children were Moses, Martin, James and Anne. She was still alive in 1940 when James and his five sons and second wife, Catherine Murphy left for Australia.  Moses was born in 1799, Martin about 1801, and James in 1803, so Rosannah was probably two or three generations before your Annie.
