I am looking for the baptism record of my greatgrandmother Agnes FLYNN. Born around 1857. A record has been found of an Agnes Flynn born 3 June 1857, Kerry. f. John Flynn m. Catherine Collins. DUAGH Record ID. KY-RC-BA-222416. I have found this on www.churchrecordsirishgenealogy.ie, but there is a note to say that this has not be imaged yet. Can anyone tell me how I can find this last record BA-222416. I have looked at the Duagh records that have been digitised but it is not there.

Hi Sue
Not sure about the digitisation; there is a contact on the www.irishgenealogy.ie/ site which you might try.
There are also 4 church baptism records of Agens Flynn on rootsireland:
3 in 1859 Roscommon, Antrim & Mayo & 1853 Down; all are R C
I can copy & paste those if you wish.

Sue:
I had a look at the Duagh register and I think the folks who transcribed the data for www.irishgenealogy.ie made a transcription error. The June 3rd record as you already seen was for an Agnes McCarthy daughter of Joseph McCarthy and Mary Collins.
Do you know the names of the parents of Agnes? Without that information or other clues, it will be difficult to find the baptismal record for your Agnes.

Hi Col. I don't know if I ever replied to you as I have just got back into my Irish side again. I don't know how this new site works so I hope I am doing this right. This was way back last year. Could you copy and paste the information if you still have it please.

Hi Roger. Don't know if I replied to you or not. Have just got back into the Irish side. John Flynn was the father on the marriage certificate and he was a blacksmith. I have found other information on Ancestry Public Member trees, but I haven't found any evidence on any of the sites I have been on. Sorry it has taken so long, but this website has changed since I last went on it.

Sue:
One key question. Do you know for a fact that the family came from Kerry? I did find an 1853 record in Co. Down in Ballygalget RC parish for an Agnes Flynn with a father John. For some reason, the priest in that parish at least in 1853, did not show the mother's name. http://registers.nli.ie//registers/vtls000633099#page/33/mode/1up

Hi Roger.
The 1881 UK Census says that Agnes Flyn was born in Cork, Ireland and from her age it was around 1857. I have tried all sites to try and find her, but nothing. I got in touch with Ed Wallace and he sent back an email which I shall try to attach.
I have had a reply from NLI but didn't help much. irishgenealogy.ie is a separate body so I am waiting to hear from them.
Thanks for your reply.

Hi Col
Thanks for that. I will try them. I have had replies from Ancestry Public Member trees, but one of them is only doing it as recreational and his gt grandfather may not have anything to do with my John Flyn. The other one is seeing his wife's sister later in the year who has all the paperwork and we will see what he finds.
