I am trying to track down some additional information about my great-grandparents - John Brennan and Margaret Callaghan Brennan. They were married on June 29, 1868 in Donore parish. John was born in Co Louth and Margaret was born in Co Meath. Margaret had a sister Mary and I believe their parents were Nicholas Callaghan and Mary Boylan ... but I am not certain of this. Do you know if there is any way I can verify the name of Margaret's parents? Also, is it possible to obtain a birth certificate for Margaret?
Thanks,
Maureen

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Civil registration for births did not begin until 1864 so no birth certificate for Margaret.
I could not locate a civil marriage index record for the marriage of John and Margaret. That document would have shown the names of the fathers of the bride and groom and where the bride and groom were living in 1868.
I looked at the 1854 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Donore civil parish and the only Callaghan listed was Christopher Callaghan. Is it possible that the father of Margaret was Christopher? I have looked on Roots Ireland for baptismal records in Co. Meath for children of Nicholas Callaghan and I get no record.

Please advise.

Thank you Roger. I don't think Margaret's father was Christopher. I will see if I can track down any info about Margaret's sister, Mary Callaghan. Hopefully, I will have better luck with Mary. :)
