Hello..
I am looking for information about my 2nd gr. grandfather, Thomas Francis O'Shaughnessy and my 2nd gr. grandmother, Hanora Madigan. They were both born in Co. Clare, I believe in Kilrush. Thomas was born about 1803 and Honora about 1809. They had 6 children, Michael, Martin, Mary, Margaret, and John (my gr. grandfather) before emigrating to Ontario, Canada about 1843. After emigrating they had 2 more children, Catherine and Simon.
I would greatly appreciate any information! I am in California and am trying to get information in 3 different countries.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and sorry for the delayed response.
The best place to research Co. Clare records is their online library resources. Roots Ireland is starting to add Co. Clare church records but Kilrush is not available at this time. For your information, records for Kilrush church start in 1827.
I did look at the Tithe records for Kilrush parish and did not see any O'Shauhnessy records but there were a number of Madigan records.

Don't know if you have found out anything, but I believe that "your" Thomas is the brother of my William O'Shaughnessy born abt 1791 who also came to Canada sometime prior to 1851 when he and his family is listed in Bromley, Renfrew, Ontario. He is my 3rd Great Grandfather.
