I am looking for any information about Bartholomew Glynn, born 1775.He may have been from the Galway area but ended up in Kilrush. He was a corn and flour merchant. I have been told that he was married twice. I have found his children through ancestry and clare library but have not been able to trace his origin or his wives. He died in 1855. I did find a Bartholomew Glynn in Griffiths evaluation having property in Ballysheedy in 1855. Any information someone has about him or his family will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Denise:
The Kilrush RC records start in 1827. They are not online as far as I can tell. Later this summer the National Library of Ireland plans to put all RC parish registers online for free searching. I would check Kilrush records at that time.
I also looked at the Tithe Applotment listings www.titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie
There are three Batt/Bartholomew Glynns listed in Co. Clare including one in Kilrush parish. However, that Bartholomew Glynn only had three acres.

Looking for great, great grandfather Edward James Martin who migrated to USA in approximately 1850. He named his son born in 1858 James Bartholomew Martin who was born in Independence, Missouri.

Laura:
I noticed that you also posted a message in the parish page for Ballynakill parish Ballynahinch barony in Co. Galway. This parish is in northwest Connemara. Do you know the Edward's parents names?
As an aside RC church records for that area start in 1869.
