I put in some info re Mahoney ancestors from Carrick-on-suir(I love Saying that). I mistakenly said my Great-Grandfather's name was James. It was not James, it was JOHN Mahoney. He was reportedly involved with the Fenian group in both the USA and Ireland and was "OUT" on the night of a protest in approx, March, 1867. Not much, but you never know.

Hello Bob,
I went to www.rootsireland.ie and searched for John Mahoney. I found 474 possible baptismal records for a John Mahoney in the Tipperary and Waterford genealogical sites. Carrick on Suir is on the borders of these two counties and some of the records fall into the Co. Waterford site.
As you don't have a possible date of birth or even date range it would be impossible to find which family is yours. Any idea of parents names? If not, any idea of children's names? Most children were called after their grandparents. It may help you narrow down some records.
P.S. Just in case you're wondering? Carrick on Suir is pronounced SURE as in sugar
Regards,
Anne

Anne;
Thank you VERY much, that was very kind of you. I will gather as much info from some of my older cousins and see what I come up with. I know an obituary exists for my Great-Grandfather, so I will see what I can gather from that.
Again thank you SO MUCH!
MAY GOD BLESS AND MAY YOU AND YOURS HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS!
