looking for the Durkin family from caradoogan

The spelling of the townland is Carrowdoogan. This looks like the 1911 census record for his parents with his grandparents.

I looked for civil birth index records for your father in the Ballina registration district. There was one record in 1920 and two in 1922 for a Thomas Durkan. Not sure which one was for your father. You would have to contact the General Register Office to get a copy of the record.  If you want to get a copy let me know and I will provide more specifics and instructions.

wow thank you never been able to find my dads birth  my dads full name was thomas john Durkin .Iknow he was baptized on the 5th january 1922 and born 1st january 1922and was baptized in church of the blessed virgin maryand st joseph attymass as i have this certificate that was in my dads belongings  so pleased thank you ever so much  sheila

You are welcome. As it turns out both 1922 records were the same. Go to this link. https://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Apply-for-Certificates.aspx   print out the birth form, fill it out to the best of your ability and include the index data below i.e. Ballina registration district Volume 4 page 7

Make sure you only ask for a copy which should cost around 4 euros. You have to mail the request (address provided when you print the form) but you can ask GRO to e-mail the copy back to you. I provide a credit card number on the form and have not had any issues.
