Hi,
Further to an earlier email - with the assitance of Monaghan Library I have found a baptism date for my relative Jane Henry daughter of Hugh Henry and Mary Ann Monford. She was baptised on 17th May 1824 in Ballybay.
I am still hoping to find her birth date and the marriage date for her parents ( I am assuming) with a Ballybay location or nearby perhaps? I think Hugh may have been born locally c1805 and Mary Ann c1807.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't think you will find the actual date of birth.
I did search Roots Ireland and did not find the marriage record for the parents. I also could not find baptismal records for either of the parents.
I did find an 1829 Tithe record for a Hugh Henry in Aghanamullen parish which is just below Ballybay. Possibly this record is for your ancestor. http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/reels/tab//004587395/00…

Many thanks Roger. Yes I think it is possible that the family may also have links with Aghanamullen. Should I put a mesage on that specific site now I wonder?
I did also find a Hugh Henry born in 1778 in Aghanamullen Parish a "gallant" Colour Sergeant with the Wiltshire Regiment (source Findmypast), being discharged in 1805 after being wounded - coincidence perhaps. He was a weaver prior to army service. Perhaps he took up farming?

You may want to join that parish but I don't think you need to post a new message.

made a slight error -Hugh Henry's attestation was in 1805 and he was discharged in 1818 and then he was in the 99th Foot Regiment Cavan Militia, Yeomanry.

Hi
Still struggling to find anyone with evidence of HENRY links to Ballybay, Monaghan. I'm also trying to see if there are any new records for Antrim because I still have no record for the baptism or birth of Thomas Henry son of Hugh Henry and Mary Ann Monford. The family were in Donegore from 1826 or thereabouts until at least the late 1840s. When he died in Wolverhampton, England he was 73 so his birth date may have been 1832 rather than the assumed 1837. A 2 and 7 might have been transcribed wrongly but as I've never found an image to prove this I'm stumped. Anyone got any suggestions?
Many thanks,
