I have a Family Tree Maker (Ancestry.com) Data base with 2000 records for thie above mentioned family who originated from Ballydavid, Graffees, Ballynahow, Ballycurrane, Feohanagh Townships, (Kilquane Parish, per 1901/11 Irish Census records) and surrounding areas. These families primarily relocated to the Hartford CT-Springfield MA USA area.

My grandfather was a Scanlon-Moriarty from Ballyloughig who moved to Chicopee, Ma then NYC.
James Scanlon (1897-1982!) son of Maurice Scanlon and Kate Moriarty.We have so much family in the Hartford Springfield area I havent made all the connections yet.

Hi, my g,g,g grandparents were John Moriarty and Margaret Begley of Ballinknockane, Kilquane. They married 16 Feb 1816 in the parish church of Ballyferriter and had 5 children that I have found. Catherine, Mary, Ellen, Margaret & Honora. I am descended from Ellen (known as Helen) born 1824 who married John Fitzgerald of the adjoining townland of Ballynavenooragh in 1846 at Ballyferriter and they had 8 children one of whom, my great grandfather Michael emigrated to New Zealand in 1874. John and Helen had moved to Tralee by the time their first child Edmund was born in Dec 1846 and they lived in the areas of Ballybeggan, Ballingowan and Rathass all nearTralee town. I am interested to learn any further information on the family especially the children who are believed to have remained in Ireland; Edmund born 1846, Patrick 1853 and Ellen 1866. The other children who also emigrated, Mary born1855, and Honora 1862 to Australia and Johanna 1862, Thomas 1856 to NZ.
