Looking for any information on Felix McCabe born ca. 1778 Dawson Grove and married to Margaret Smyth/Smith. They had two children: Edward born ca. 1810 and Charles born ca 1828. The family emigrated to Canada about 1829 settling in Ontario.
In searching the Townlands in Dawson Grove (Ematris Parish) from the 1820-30 Applotment records, there are about 17 McCabe men listed.
I am hoping to find Felix' parents and siblings names as one of his brothers was my GGGGrandfather.
Thanks in advance;
Thom

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
You don't mention the religious denomination for the McCabes. If they were RC, records for Ematris parish do not begin until 1848. http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0307

Thanks Roger. I believe they were RC but they could have changed when they came to Canada. They followed the RC church here and were buried in an RC cemetery in Toronto, Ontario. Going by that, RC would be a good guess.
1848 won't help in finding these people as my GGGGrandfather was born 1817 and his father was born, we are guessing, somewhere in the same timeframe as his brother Felix in late 1870-early 1880s.
Any other suggestions?

No suggestions. Very few records back to the 1700s.

Hi Thom,
In case it is of interest to you and you don't already have the info, Henry McCabe son of Henry McCabe and Alice McPhillips, who was baptised in 1872 in Dawson Grove, is buried Comox, British Columbia, Canada. Find A Grave Memorial# 106503713. BC Death Registration http://search-collections.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/Image/Genealogy/46d12e01-…
Date of birth doesn't match the death reg but that is not uncommon. :)
Cheers,
Donna
