I've managed to trace the Burke side of my family back to 1824/1825 which is when I believe my great great grandfather Michael Burke was born. He was married to Ellen (Eelionora) Clear(e). Ellen was born in October 1830. They had several children but only one - my great grandfather , Barty (Bartholomew)born 23.10.1863 married. He married Anne Reilly in 1887. Anne was born in 1870 and died in 1898.
I'd love to get information on Michael Burke - who his parents were
also Ellen Clear, I believe her parents were Bartley Cleare and Nelly (Ellen) Kirwan/Kerwan anything on them would be great.
and lastly my greatgrandmother Anne Reilly, she was only 28 when she died.

The only record I have found is for an Anne Reilly born in he parish of Taghmon on 07-Sep-1870 to a father David and a mother Ann Cullen. I couldn't find any records for Barty or for Michael. Can you let me know how you know Barty's exact date of birth?

I'm thrilled someone responded. Barty Burke
(Bartholomew) was my Gt Grandfather. I found his birth date online (parish records ladys island), he was born on 23.10.1863 and died in the last quarter of 1919 aged 56. I found his father's death documented as the last quarter of 1904 aged 80so that would mean he was born around 1824/25 (ish) - records not that great! There was one Annie Reilly baptised in Ladys Island church in 1886, she was from Bennettstown but he was still alive when I knew my gt grandmother had died (Anne Burke (Reilley) died 3rd quarter 1894). Any help would be gratefully received. I''ll be over at the end of June and will be pestering both Father Nolan andAnne Carthy yet again they were both so very helpful with my search for my fathers family (Somers) last year.

Are you are still researching the Clear family? I am not aware of a link between the Clear/Cleare family and my Sinnott ancestors of Carne, but one of my correspondents has researched the Clear/Cleare family and may be able to help you..
