I'd like to know if the name John TROY was a local man, maybe born about 1818 or a little earlier.

His son, Michael (Mical) was baptised in 1838 in Killadysert parish.  John's wife was Bridget KANE/KEANE.  There was a Thomas KEANE in the Killadysert parish, and his age could have made him Bridget's brother or cousin.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?  After the TROYs were in Canada about 30 years on Wolfe Island, Frontenac County, Ontario Province, Canada, almost all of them moved to Rochester, New York, USA, at the other end of Lake Ontario.

Wolfe Island is the large island in the St Lawrence River (Seaway) just as it enters Lake Ontario.  The Troy's lived on Long Point, and Michael was cited by the Canadian government for saving so many ship wrecked lives on Lake Ontario.
