I am seeking information on the family Lynch who I believed were of Castleisland in the mid 1800s Children, Michael Lynch, born in 1830 and his sister Johanna, born in 1835 came to U S in 1848. Father of children may have been John Lynch, mother Mary Langford. Kind Ireland XO volunteer has looked into Castleisland and advises there may be info in Kilconly regarding this family. Looking for any info an Michael and/or Johanna, parents and any sibling information that may be avaiable. Thank you for any help. Cathy Lynch

Roger, I thought I was supposed to ask help of another support person through Kilconly. But, I guess you looking into other locations too. Thanks for that. Yes, I got the information on Margaret Langford and did some further digging in the Parish of Kilconly and found John Lynch in townlands Leansaghane, Bromore West and Derra. I am going to try to find a map that will enable me to look at those townlands and Kilconly, South where Margaret Lanford is shown. Does it make sense that Margaret Langford would be listed as the property occupier if she was widowed? I wonder if she was Mary's mother. I am beginning to think perhaps Kilconly is where they may have been. I'll keep looking. Thanks so much. Cathy Lynch

Yes, a widow would be shown as the leaseholder. I use Google Maps to track the locations of townlands.
