I am seeking information about my great great Grandparents - Jeremiah Connell/O'Connell and his wife Ellen McCarthy (I think). He was born in 1813 and died in 1883. Ellen was born in 1820 and die in 1906.
They were married in 1845 in Castleisland. They left Ireland for the United States in about 1845 (possibly to Maine). They left the US to emigrate to Australia in 1850s. They settled in country Victoria and had 5 children - Mary, John, Francis, Charles (my Great Grandfather) and Ellen (Nellie). Would love to find out more of their history. Thanks,Leonie

Below is the transcription of the marriage record. Jeremiah was shown as Dermot and Ellen was shown as Helen. The RC records for Castleisland parish start in 1823 so if Jeremiah or Ellen were baptized in that parish records would not be available. They could have been baptized in another nearby parish which has earlier records but we have no way of confirming any record you find on www.irishgenealogy.ie without knowing the parents names.
