I am looking to confirm if possible, the movement of Catherine Condon, who is supposed to have lived in the Ballangaddy area and be a daughter of James Condon and Ellen Mulqueen. According to the death details of Catherine in Australia, it appears that she was born about 1812. I have on my previous Drew message indicated that the 2nd Gr. Grand Mother of my wife was Ellen Condon who married Michael Drew in Kilmalock in 1839 with the same parents. We didn't know Catherine existed until a few days ago and would like to see if it can be confirmed.
Ellen & Michael were sponsored to Australia and arrived in August 1941 on the ship "Eleanor'. I have been unable to confirn whether Catherine came out before them, with them, or after.them. She was supposed to have married a John Thomas Sullivan about 1848, but unsure whether in Ireland or Australia. Later in 1857 she married again to a John Duggan.
To strength the theory that they are sisters, both are buried near each other under their married names in a small country town in NSW. I am in contact with a descendant of the only child born to John Thomas & Catherine who believes they are sisters but cannot find confirmation.
Can anyone advise when Catherine immigrated to Australia and on what ship, and if her parents were James Condon & Ellen Mulqueen. Hope you can assist.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
The RC parish for Ballingaddy civil parish is Kilmallock, however, records for that parish do not start until 1837. Just to be safe, I searched Roots Ireland and another data base and could not find the baptismal record for Catherine.
The 1827 Tithe listings for Ballingaddy civil parish (see link below) does show a James Condon in Griston Beg townland leasing 25 acres. Griston Beg was likely a place name in the 1820s but is not shown as an official townland now. I checked the 1850 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for the parish and there were two Condons in Ballingarry North townland so maybe Griston Beg became Ballingarry North. http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/limerick/ballingaddy.htm

You may want to look into autosomal DNA testing. You and the descendant of John Thomas and Catherine could both be tested and if you match then you would know that Ellen and catherine were sisters.

I too have been researching the passengers on board the Eleanor which arrived in Sydney in 1841. I was researching Ellen Connor from Kilmallock, my gg grandmother. In looking at the pasenger records I found two:
1. Ellen Connor aged 21 father James, Mother Ellen, Both dead. Under protection of her sister Mary Drew and husbnd.
2. Ellen Connor aged 25, father John (dead) , mother Elizabeth (alive) under protection of brother William, 28
When I checked married couples on board, I could only find Michael Drew aged 24 (parents John and Anne, living) and his wife listed as Mary (not Ellen) aged 21 father James, mother Ellen both dead (this corresponds with Ellen Connor, 21 above). Their daughter Johanna died on voyage.
There was a Michael Drew in the Upper Lachlan, buried in Breadalbane whose wife was Ellen. Michael was born in Ballingarry in 1806.
This may help.
