The family I am looking for is James Leslie born in the late 1700s.  I believe the family lived in Cloone, but there is no one in that community other than me.  I am hoping that someone may know something about the Leslie's in Cloone.  James may have been married to a Mary.  James Leslie had a son, also named James who married Anne Dunne.  Anne's parents were Francis Dunne and Bridget Mulligan.  They all lived in Cloone.  James and Anne married in Ireland and moved to NY.  That is all I know.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you so much!

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I found a couple records of interest. Below is a transcription of an 1837 marriage record in the Mohill C of I church between a James Leslie from Cloone and an Honor Duke. Not sure how this James is connected to your Leslie family. I also looked at the 1857 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Cloone parish and there was a James Leslie in Gubadorris townland who could be your ancestor. The 1901 census for Co. Leitrim had 18 Leslies including a family in Gubadorris.
