Looking for family of Michael John Barrett who immigrated to the US in the 1850s or 1860s. He lived in Chicago, Illinois, married his wife Margaret Cronin in Syracuse, New York, also lived in Philadelphia, PA, and had some connection to Cleveland, OH. He was a hatter by trade but also worked in the coal mines of Braidwood, IL. He died in Chicago in 1907 and was an active member of the A.O.H.
We heard he was born near Westport somewhere between 1847-1851; genetic DNA testing has linked us to some Barrett names around the Mulranny/Newport area. I often call him the elusive Michael Barrett and are trying to find which branch of Barrett or his parents or grandparents names in County Mayo. Based on naming patterns of his children we think his parents maybe John or Thomas and Mary.

I don't know whether these people come into your Tree or not, but my husband's Great Grandmother was Mary Barrett from Co Mayo.
Her Father was John William Barrett born Co Mayo in 1832 he married a Mang(a)on.
Mary had 2 other siblings, but I do not know what their names were.
