I am looking for birth or baptismal records of Mary Shay (Shea) born 26 March 1844 in or near Cahirciveen to John (Sean) and Ellen Shay (Shea). Please let me know if you can find anything.
Thank you

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Unfortunately, the Caherciveen RC baptismal records start in November 1846. http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0658 Church records for Cahirciveen are included on www.irishgenealogy.ie I looked for siblings of Mary but did not find any records.
Don't know if John Shea was still alive in 1852. The 1852 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Caher parish shows four John Shea records and your ancestor could be one of them.

Have you considered autosomal DNA testing?

Thank you for looking Roger. Yes, I have had a DNA test which shows that I have some Irish ancestry, but I have not found anyone yet who shares this line.
