Thank you. I haven't had a reply as yet. Any information on this O'Shea family would be gratefully received as we don't know much more than this. We believe James and Thomas also had a brother Michael but have not been able to confirm this.

Sorry that no one got back to you.

I searched on www.irishgenealogy.ie which has Co. Kerry church records. I located records for possible siblings to James as follows: Mary May 4 1847 Bridget October 1 1849 Catherine November 29 1852 Thomas January 30 1859 Record for Thomas below. All of the records located were in the Glenbeigh/Glencar RC parish which is two parishes north of Caherdaniel. The other conern is the record I located was for 1859 so was he 4 when he came with James Denis in 1863? Maybe this is not the correct Timothy O'Shea/Mary O'Riordan family. Appreciate your comments.

Based on marriage and death certificates for Thomas , his birth would have been between 1837 and 1840. What is the 

'other information" used to estabish a date of birth for the Thomas SHEA baptism you found? Could we assume he was baptised as an adult?

I have seen that annotation a number of times and it appears to me that this child was born and baptized on the same day and was not an adult.
