Hi - my great grandparents were Daniel Doody and Johanna Keane. I'd like to find their marriage record and the reason for leaving to the US. They had 3 children in Illinois then returned to Ireland in 1899. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Do you have an approximate year for the marriage? I looked at www.irishgenealogy.ie for both civil and church records and don't see a marriage record. There are three baptismal records for children of these parents in 1902, 1904 and 1906 in Knocknagoshel church.
I did find this 1911 census record which shows the oldest child Nora on the record born in America but the two oldest children were not in the house.

The census record indicates a marriage around 1892. Any possibilitiy they married in the States?
They likely left Ireland for a better opportunity for employment and returned either to take over the farm or maybe they did not like America.
