My Great Great Grandmother Eliza or Elizabeth SHELLY daughter of Johanna SHELLY born MULLANE and Edward SHELLY was born in Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland and died in Canada where her parents emigrated around 1845. My SHELLY ancestors are cited by Terrence Punch in his publication : Erin's Sons:Irish Arrivals in Atlantic Canada Volume 2

Dear Bluenosecanook:
Thank you for your post to the Ireland Reaching Out message board and welcome to the site!
We have a local volunteer in Dingle who may be able to add to your information. I will copy this post to him.
In the meantime, if you wish, you might consider adding one of your ancestors to the XO Chronicles ancestor database. You can do so by clicking on the link at the top of the page marked "XO Chronicles" and following the instructions. If you have any difficulties, please email me at: jhalloranryan@irelandxo.com.
Thank you for your interest in Ireland Reaching Out.
All the best,
Jane.

Hi Bluenosecanook,
I have tried the online local resources for Elizabeth Sheely, Johanna Shelly and Mullane and Edward Shelly with no results. I have checked Baptismal records for 1828 to 1837 in St Mary's RC Church that are NOT online without any luck. In fact I found no Shellys or Mullanes at all.in Dingle.
It was unusual not to find ANY entries for Shelly nor Mullane. I even check for Sponsors. If you have any further info ¬DATA - please forward.
Regards

Thank you for your message. Here is the reference to the marriage of Catherine SHELLY daughter of Edward and Johanna and sister of Elizabeth now married to James who were her sponsors. Their surname should read WHALES not WELLS or WHELLS although sometimes found as WALES/WAILES in various records. They married at St Mary's Basilica, Halifax, Halifax, NS Canada on May 1st 1871.
However, I am researching my Irish roots for SHELLY and MULLANE who were from Dingle, County Kerry as this is what has been written in Terrence Punch's Publications Erins Sons: Irish Arrivals in Atlantic Canada Volume 2.
I would appreciate any suggestions you might have. I have also looked at the Tithe Applotment and Griffiths Valuations for Mullanes in County Kerrry civil parishes in Dingle and surrounding parishes..
