Thanks to the FHL and the NLI microfilming and digitizing efforts I have found baptismal records for my great-grandmother, Ellen Kelly, born December 12, 1869, as well as baptismal records for her siblings. Ellen's birth date and the names of her siblings fit with family records and triangulate with the assumption that her family lived near Tiermaclane (birthplace of one of brothers-in-law as published in his obituary 1915 Chicago Daily News), I was then able to find records for my ancestors in Clarecastle RC Parish, Diocese of Killaloe.
Now the question: Church names and home addresses were not recorded in the records. Occasionally there is a mention of Ennis No. 2 or perhaps a three-digit number followed by Ennis, e.g. 239 Ennis, 297 Ennis, 256 Ennis, 281 Ennis.
How can I use these entries to learn the name of the church where my ancestors were baptized? or perhaps the street on which they lived in Ennis?
I would love to see the churches in which they worshipped and to walk the lanes they walked. A very common and very sincere desire for the great many of us who are part of the Irish Diaspora.
Thank you for any guidance you can provide,
Karen

Hi Karen,
Ellen's civil birth record is on irishgenealogy.ie - see the enclosed. https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_retur…
The family lived in a townland called Ballybeg. According to the attached the parish was Clareabbey - http://www.thecore.com/seanruad/town_new2.php?MODE=search&TOWNLAND=Ball…
I enclose a link to the Clare library - looks like there is a reasonable amount of information there on Ballybeg and Clareabbey. http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/places/clare_abbey.htm

Hello, Jim__
Thank you for your gracious and prompt reply! It's quite exciting to know where Ellen and her family lived. Exciting, also, to know that her youngest brother, James Kelly, can be found in the 1901 Census of Ireland farming in Ballybeg. He was a bachelor farmer at the time and I would love to know if he married, had children, and if any of them might still be living in Co. Clare. They would, I think, be my third-cousins given that we would share the same second-great-grandparents, Patrick Kelly and Mary Sexton Kelly.
Any hints on how/where I might find digital records to help me answer these questions?
With thanks,
Karen
