  • Do you know what denomination your Odam/Hinch family were ?

Templeshannon was part of the Catholic parish of Enniscorthy and the records go back to the mid 1790s, but no sign of any Odam records up to the 1820s that I can see. There are a few Hinch baptisms in the parish but much later -  1839, 1842 etc. Images of the registers are available free on the National Library website.

For Church Ireland the parish for Templeshannon was the Union of Enniscorthy. At one time there was a chapel of ease in Templeshannon, but this was in ruins by the early 19th Century. Records for the parish go back to 1798, and are held by the Representative Church Body Library in South Co. Dublin, a  microfilm copy is also availabale in the National Archives. As far as I know these records are not currently available anywhere online.

Odam is an unusual surname for Ireland, no matches showing on the later Primary Valuation, and just a single match one on the earlier Tithe Applotment Records - a James Odam with propert at Killagoley townland Templeshannon civil parish, Co. Wexford .. so possible a relative or even Michael's father ? This section of the Tithe records is dated 1833.

Crossreferencing back to this townland on Griffith's Primary Valuation I see a Michael Odum leasing property consisting of a House, yard & small garden at Wood Lane in 1853.
