Dr Michael Connellan was a medical Doctor who emigrated to New South Wales in 1851. Michael died in transit to New South Wales on board ship. His wife, Margaret Healey was a school teacher. She settled in Picton New South Wales with her young family. They may have come from the Mt Ivers region of Clare.

Others of the Connellan family also emigrated to New South Wales, Picton area and would have originated from the Mt Ivers region.  Michael Connellan's father may have been named Thomas.

Any help would be appreciated.

    The Mount Ievers area that you refer to is in the parish of Sixmilebridge or the civil parish of Kilfinaghta.  The parish registers are online through the National Library of Ireland website.  The link is below:
