Try this site below, the areas you mention come under Newcastlewest, but I noticed some just say Newcastle. when you view the record make sure you look at the top to see that the County is Limerick.(it's free)

What I do is put thoamd dore and search then look for Newcastle and then delete the thomas and search again. then search the list of names.
Then try,
www.census.nationalarchives.ie
The spelling in 1901 and 1911 is Templeglentan (this site is key sensitive)
You may be able to match up the names between the 2 sites.
Thomas is 67 and is listed in the 1901 and 1911 census.

The subscription site Roots Ireland has the 1840 baptismal record for John Dore in the Monagea RC records and his father was John Dore and mother Johanna Callaghan. They were living in Meeneline (current spelling Meenyline North or South). There is a gap in the Monagea records between 1813-1829.https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0888

I'm currently using Ancestry, Irish Geneology and the Irish Census, I certainly agree working backwards is the best way but I've hit a brick wall with John "Sean" Dore who was married to Johanna Callaghan. I'm trying to confirm who John's father was, I think it might be Patrick Dower/Dore born about 1790, I'd like to find out if John or his father Patrick had any brothers and sisters, then I'll be well on the way to connecting the Meenoline, Tulligoline and Gortnagloss Dores.

There is a large gap in Monagea baptismal records from July 1813 to March 1829 so if the elder John Dore was born in that gap period, a record will not be available.

Hi, sorry I have not been on line for a few days.
I don't think you will be able to get any early birth records.
In the Tithe records, the two links below are of Dore and Callaghan people in Monagea and Mahoonagh.

Not all early year images are on line, you would have to request and pay.
Below is an example of what you would get. If you choose a Death cert or a Birth cert. all you will get is the entry you see online copied onto a big Certificate, you won’t see any other info. So just the image is what you need, I am not sure how much it is.

The gap in records seems to be my problem, are there seperate records for Meenoline. Templeglantine rather than Monagea because that's where most of Bernadette's family are from.

I've been using the Irish Geneoolgy website for quite a while obtaining all birth, marriage and death records for the Dore's trying to piece together the large Dore family. I don't recognise the wedding record you mention, the wedding was in Mahoonagh rather than Templeglantine where most of Bernadette's family lived. I appreciate Mahoonagh isn't far from Templeglantine, and although they're probably connected to the wider Dore clan they're not Bernadette's line.
