I am looking for information on my great grandparents. Timothy (Thady) McMahon (1841-1895) and Mary Horton (Horan) (1841 -1914). They were married in 1864 in the dicoese of Killaloe. According to Griffith evalaution and the property records of 1876 they were tenets of property owned by George Fitzgerald. The property was located on plot 13 on the Corrakyle Road and plot 15 which was bordered by the Corra river. They had 8 children Catherine, Mary, Patrick, John, Tim, Michael, Margaret and Ellen. Catherine, my grandmother, along with Mary, Patrick, and Ellen came to the United states, married and settled in Dayton Ohio. Margert married a man by the name of Michael Noonan and lived out their days in ireland. Their son John Noonan, born in 1921, also came to the Unites States, married and settled in Dayton Ohio. I know almost nothing about John, Tim, and Michael or any of thier decendets who might be living in the area today. Would appreciate any information that you could provide on these three individuals and any other info relating to this family and its ancestors!
Thanks

Dear Bob:
Many thanks for your post to the Ireland Reaching Out message board and welcome to the site! I have found a 1901 Census reference to Mary McMahon and her family. They were living at House no. 16 at Currakyle townland in the DED of Cloonusker. The link is here: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Clare/Cloonusker/Currakyle/1085077/ In the 1911 Census, they were also here at: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Clare/Cloonusker/Corrakyle/368256/ There is a civil marriage record for Margaret McMahon and Michael Noonane dated 10 June 1920 where they married in the Church in Tuamgraney. You should be able to find further information about this family through the Civil records which are free to view on Irish Genealogy. The website address is: https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/civil-search.jsp
In addition, the Clare Library website is also a good resource. There is a lot of information available on it including gravestone records, births, marriages and deaths, and newspaper notices. You can look through the records by parish or by reference. Their website address is: http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/genealogy/genealog.htm
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Kind regards,
Jane

Jane, thanks for your reply and help. I have been able to piece together most of my Mcmahon clan using the web sites you referenced. However, I have never been able to find much on the children of Timothy Mcmahon and Mary Horton ( Horan) that stayed in Ireland, Tim, John, and Michael. I was hopeful that someone could help me in that area. I would love to find and establish contact with any living descendents of these three..

That is great news Jane. At the present time I have no plans on traveling to ireland but that might change if I find I have living relatives in the Emerald isle. If you find that any of your contacts have an internent connection I would love to have it. Thanks again for your help. This has been a long journey !!!!!!
