Looking for any information on Maurice O'Connell, from the Lixnaw area of County Kerry. He was born in 1810(?), possibly in Deerpark Townland, and married Ellen Quinlan from Deerpark Townland in 1842 in Lixnaw Parish. They had two sons, Thomas(born in Ireland) and Patrick(born in the US), and possibly one daughter, Catherine(born in the US). The family left for the US in 1850-1851 and ended up in Cayuga County, New York. Thank you.

Hi, did not have very much success beyound what you have. Records prior to 1820's are very scarce. Can confirm what you have as marriage info. There are however lots of other Maurice O'Connells as you probably found. Civil records are almost non existant for thentime period. If you want to look at the area thses sites might be helpful.

Hi Jim,
Thanks for the information. I believe Maurice was from Gortasdrislig and his baptism records list his father as John Connel(John O'Connell) and his mother as Bridget Behan. I'm not sure if this helps you. I also believe he may have had another daughter, Margaret, born in 1843. I'm trying to piece together my family history with a family tree that my cousin George O'Connell in Lixnaw sent me recently.
