I am searching for the Nolan family who lived in Coolgarrow. The father, James, was born in 1837, his wife, Mary was born in 1838. In the 1901 census, they listed the following children:, Thomas (28/deaf and dumb), John 21, Bridget 18, Edward 15 and Annie 15. In the 1911 census James, Mary, Thomas and Edward are still in the home. I believe John and Bridget wen to the United States in 1901. Their passage was paid by their brother, James. I also have found reference to a sister, Margaret. I am trying to connect James and Margaret and identify any other siblings, etc. my understanding is the family was always in Coolgarrow. Thank you for any help or information. Glenda

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
The subscription site Roots Ireland has only about 25% of the Wexford RC parishes in their data base.
I found an 1860 marriage record in Enniscorthy which is a possibility. Do you know if Mary's maiden name was also Nolan? I also located baptismal records for Margaret, a Daniel (location shows Killabeg) Thomas followed by four more records which I did not copy: John 1879 Bridget 1882 Edward 1885 Anne 1885
www.irishgenealogy.ie has images of civil death records. I did find a death record for Thomas in 1940. The informant was his sister Margaret Kinsella.

Let me know what questions you have.

Roger,
First, let me apologize for not responding sooner. I had unexpected out of town company. Thank you so much for the information you sent along. I do not know if Mary was Mary Nolan Nolan or that is just her married name. Do you know if the Margaret Kinsella was Margaret Nolan? A marriage record, perhaps? Another bit of information by Ireland census records is that Thomas was deaf and dumb. I am not sure the Daniel you found belongs to us, but am not sure he doesn’t. Everyone seems to be in Coolgarrow, though. If I find any other information, I will pass it along to you. I really appreciate your help in this. I am researching for a dear friend who is going to Ireland in March and is very anxious to visit her “roots”.
Thank you, again,
Glenda

Margaret Nolan married Thomas Kinsella in August 1902 https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_re…
Likely Mary was also a Nolan because a church marriage record would show the maiden name.

Since John Nolan and Mary Nolan were married in Enniscorthy, is it likely they were both from there? Or, at least, she is from there? Please excuse my ignorance about the Irish map!
Have you seen any reference to James? I believe him to be older as he paid for John’s and Bridget’s passage to Philadelphia in 1901. I am not sure if the previous message I was writing was deleted or posted so please excuse me if the following are duplicate questions. Is it likely that the family was in Coolgarrow for Margaret’s baptism and then in Killeberg for Daniel’s and back to Coolgarrow for the rest? I don’t want to discard this Daniel. The census says Mary had ten children. I have identified James, Margaret, Thomas, John, Bridget, Edward, Annie and, possibly, Daniel. That’s eight of the ten! There is a gap between Margaret in 1862 and Daniel in 1868. I am thinking James and the other two children might have been born in this time span. I have not found any immigration information for James other than John and Bridget were joining him in Philadelphia. Thank you, again, for taking your time to help me.

This is the first message I've seen.
Likely James and Mary were from Enniscorthy or at least Mary was since marriages would be held in the bride's parish.
I did not find a baptismal record for James (the son).
Killabeg and Coolgarrow are 9.3 kilometers apart so about six miles. The RC parish would be Monageer for both townlands. It is possible that a family would have moved for a period of time and then moved back to their original townland. So hold onto Daniel for now.
Have you scanned the Monageer parish register https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0581 They also have death records.

I am looking for Margaret Nolan (Nowlan) born in County Wexford to James Nolan and Margaret on 7 August 1823. Margaret went on to marry Thomas Burns born in County Wicklow 23 December 1818 to James Byrnes (Burns) and Mary Murphy. This information is on their death certificates from Wisconsin. They married in Utica New York 13 July 1850 at St Patrick's Catholic Church. One of the witnesses was Elizabeth Byrnes. Not sure if that is Thomas's sister or not. I would love help finding the parents of Margaret and Thomas.
